Our Team

Project Soniashnyk has both a Board of Directors in Ukraine and a Board of Directors in Canada. We also have a team of Medical Consultants and Camp Therapists. Although in different countries, both teams work together to achieve the goals of Project Soniashnyk.

Oksana Hrycyna

Executive Director & Founder

Oksana is a teacher at the York Catholic District School Board in Ontario. She has been a community activist and volunteer for decades, particularly in the roles of Camp Counselor and Camp Director both in Canada and in Ukraine. Oksana has been instrumental in planning and running nearly 50 children's camps for over 20 years.

Christina Dmytruszko

Financial Director

Christina works in Commercial Management for one of Toronto's largest transit agencies. She has years of experience in volunteer work for her community.

Lydia Bojeczko

Public Relations Director

Lydia focuses on supporting the team as it pertains to outreach and relationship building. Before joining the Project Soniashnyk team, Lydia co-founded Ukrainian Canadian Parachute, an organization that supports displaced Ukrainians in Toronto. With a professional background working in government relations and mental health, working with Project Soniashnyk was a natural next step for her.

Roxy Luciw

Director of Community Outreach

Roxy has always been known as the "Ukrainian girl" in all aspects of her life, from school to work and friends. She has been a long-time supporter of the greater Ukrainian community and culture, whether at home in Toronto or abroad when living in the United Arab Emirates. She is also a member of the Ukrainian Youth Association (CYM) and the League of Ukrainian Canadian Women (LUCW).

Christian Borys

Distinguished Patron

Christian is the Founder and CEO of Saint Javelin a social enterprise that, to date, has raised over $2 million to help rebuild Ukraine. Boris is a former CBC Journalist and currently works as a freelance journalist and a supporter of Project Soniashnyk since its' inception.

Khrystyna Shabat - Board Coordinator UA & Child Safe-Guarding Policy Consultant

Khrystyna is a Director at the Centre of Childrens’ Dignity Ukrainian Catholic University and Founder and Co-owner of Ptashenya Private Daycare. She is the former Public Relations Head at the Ukrainian Academy of Leadership and was a workshop leader during Project Soniashnyk’s Pilot Programs in 2022.

Olya Karpiv - Financial Director & Camp Folk Arts Coordinator

Olya is the co-founder and Artistic Director of Karp Studio. She is a clothing and Atelier Accessory Designer, as well as a Graphic Designer.

Dzvinka Zagaiska - Marketing Director & Camp Art Therapy Coordinator

Dzvinka is a multi-media Artist, Graphic Designer, and Photographer.

Medical Consultants & Camp Therapists

Dr. Lillya Fabin, Camp First Aid Trainer

Dr. Fabin is the Founder, Director & CEO at HEARTMED, as well as a Physician Consultant at Pochuj Likaria.

Dr. Mariya Oliynyk, Camp Psychotherapist

Dr. Oliynyk is a Psychotherapist Consultant and Private Therapist. She is the Founder of Ya Tvoja Opora, and Co-Founder of MindForce.

Dr. Natalia Masiak, Camp Staff Psychologist Trainer

Dr. Masiak is the co-founder and head of the Centre for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other mental disorders, known as “Majsternia Dobra”. She is a child and adolescent Psychiatrist at the Clinic of Mental Health at Western Ukraine’s Specialized Children’s Medical Centre. She is also a consultant at Voices of Children Charitable Foundation, and Trainer at Project Children and War.

Svitlana Prykhodko, Camp Paediatric Psychologist, Art and Storytelling Therapist

Dr. Kelganka is a private Paediatric Psychologist in Kyiv. Prior to moving to Kyiv in 2014, she worked in Donetsk.
